India is home to about one third of the world's illiterate people. The high cost of private education, their inability to keep up with study, and pressure to work to support their families, are the reasons given by 3 in every 4 drop outs from school. We provide creches for children below 6 years old, preparing them for school, and coaching centres to guide older children through their education, in order to prevent them dropping out. We also run training and awareness sessions for teachers and parents.
The Hope Foundation Educational Sponsorship programme has been set up to help these children get the education that they deserve. A monthly payment of £20 (or annual contribution of £240), will pay for a street child to go to mainstream school, fund them to attend a Hope creche or after-school coaching centre, and provide them with medical care and nutrition.
There are numerous examples of street children who lives have been transformed by this type of sponsorship; some of our young people have trained as teachers and now in turn, work to help other street children receive a good education.
You will be given the details of your child, and each year a photograph and their report.
The best way to finance a child's education is to set up a standing order and post it to us (Hope Foundation, Flint House, Flint Hall Farm, Bradenham Road, West Wycombe, Bucks HP14 4ES). We will add to our records and send onto your bank.
