When Diya* joined HOPE’s Sponsorship Programme more than five years ago, her family was facing significant financial hardship. Daily life was uncertain, and the opportunities available to support her education and future were limited.
Despite these challenges, Diya was determined to continue her education. Recognising the importance of education in shaping a brighter future, she and her family turned to HOPE for support.
Through HOPE’s Sponsorship Programme, Diya received educational assistance that enabled her to remain in school and focus on her studies. This support became even more important during the COVID-19 pandemic, when schools closed and learning moved online.
Like many young people around the world, Diya faced uncertainty and disruption. However, with determination, resilience and ongoing support from HOPE, she continued her education and remained committed to achieving her goals.
Throughout this period, HOPE provided educational support, learning materials and nutritional assistance, helping to ease some of the pressures facing her family and ensuring that Diya could continue learning.

Today, Diya is working as a part-time teacher in an early years school, gaining valuable professional experience while also contributing to her family’s financial stability.
